I had first heard about the White Swiss Shepherd back in the early
nineties, although I had never seen one until being in the U.K (where they're accepted). The stables I was working in, lost their dear fourteen year old Black & Gold German Shepherd bitch. After seeing the White Shepherd on U.K television, I suggested that they go to look for a White instead of another Black & Gold Shepherd. They got Quincy, a white bitch and I was hooked, lined and sinkered!
I swore then, that when I got back home to New Zealand, I would
endeavour to find myself a White Shepherd as my next dog. Two years after returning and searching, I found that a litter of Whites had been born in my home town!  Thus Kody entered into the family. Unfortunately, Kody was an inbred mating and in the next couple of years I found out just how inbred the Whites were here. Thus I imported a pregnant bitch, Ghostcloud Istas (Eyta) over from Australia and she went on to have ten puppies. Four of these pups (two males and two females) went to breeding homes and now the gene pool here has no more need for any further inbreeding!  Also I have a White New Zealand bitch named Luka.
All three White Shepherds have been to Obedience training with impressive results (Luka's Father, Wolf, was an Obedience Champion) and Luka is also trying her paw at Agility (and loving it!).
It is my aim to reintroduce these beautiful canines back into New Zealand
and to put a stop to the 'backyard breeders' who are using inbred stock.
These creatures deserve the best and deserve to be the best they can be!
